Team Mobi has once again proven to be one of the hardest working teams in Sydney.
Mobiddiction were crowned the 2018 IABCA Excellence in Innovation champions last week Friday, and we’re still grinning from ear to ear. The India Australia Business and Community awards (IABCA) celebrates the Australia-India relationship while honouring migrant entrepreneurship and community leadership and aims to raise awareness of Indians in Australia and Australians in India, in a way that encourages further growth in relations between the two countries
The evening was a glamorous affair. Held at Brisbane City Hall, the team were delighted to be in a room filled with politicians, business leaders, innovators, community leaders and rising sport legends. Everyone was dressed incredibly, the theme was Indian-Black Tie and Team Mobi scrubbed up well.
A traditional fight sequence kicked off the event, it was fascinating and frightening at the same time. Founder of Gandhi Creations and the IABCA, Sonia Gandhi, opened the event before we heard from Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne and the High Commissioner of India to Australia His Excellency, Dr A.M. Gondane. Both officials highlighted the great relationship between India and Australia and emphasised the importance of initiatives such as the India Australia Business and Community Awards in further strengthening ties between the two nations.
Amazing food and music accompanied the great atmosphere and networking. Before we knew it, it was time for our category to be announced.
With over 37 nominations and 11 finalists, the excellence in innovation category was a tough one and saw us competing against the likes of Deakin University South Asia Sport Development Initiative, inQ Innovation Global and Global Education Solutions. We held our breaths and then jubilation – we won!
Mobiddiction Director, Mike Vasavada, danced his way up to the stage before taking the mic and sincerely thanking the team and Gandhi Creations for the great event.
